A Biography of  Blessed Josaphata Hordashevska

Beatified in Lviv, Ukraine on June , 2001

Basilian Press, Toronto, 1996

Author: Dominica G. Slawuta SSMI
Cover Design and layout: Ruth Aney SSMI

Available in Ukrainian and English

This biography of the life of Sister Josaphata Michaelina Hordashevska, co-foundress of the Congregation of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate, is an expanded 171-page account of the biography published in 1985. With the fall of Communism in Eastern Europe and the lifting of the Iron Curtain, so much more information and pictures became available to the Congregation from archives and personal testimony. Especially captivating is the account of the finding of Sister Josaphata's earthly remains, their transfer to Rome and the ongoing cause for her canonization. Also, poignant is the inclusion of reproductions of the eight painted scenes of the life in Ukraine of the first Sisters Servants, especially commissioned in celebration of the Congregation's centenary in 1992. This touching story will move both your heart and spirit.
